RESILIENCE AND BUILDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOPS

RESILIENCE AND BUILDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOPS

Our junior school teachers will be working closely with our Regional Social Worker, Morgan Hunter to conduct a series of workshops for our children focussing on developing their resilience and providing them with strategies to build mutually respectful friendships.  Morgan has worked at another school on the Peninsula to conduct these workshops and is keen to facilitate them with our school community.  This is an early intervention initiative and a compulsory component of your child’s education.  The Victorian Curriculum learning areas of Personal & Social Learning, Ethical Understanding and Health are implicitly embedded in the series of workshops.

Our whole school will be implementing of the Zones of Regulation next year.  This is a research based framework that teaches children how to be aware of their emotions and develop skills to become responsible for managing their behaviours.  The Resilience and Building Positive Relationships Workshops form the first step in our implementation process.  The workshops will be run weekly during that following times:

Prep & Prep/1 – Tuesday after lunch

1/2 – Tuesday morning

2/3 – Wednesday afternoon
