SCHOOL BANKING
Welcome to the school banking program for Term 3! I have just found out that the winner of the term 2 competition was from Brisbane but Karen Johnson, our lovely banking specialist confirmed she also had a winner from Moorooduc Primary. We had so many of you enter by simply making three of more deposits last term. Well done and stay tuned for the next competition - I am sure they will have more great prizes up for grabs!!! The Bank have confirmed that it was one of the most successful competitions they have run to date, with all those great prizes and it encouraged 53% of our School Banking students qualifying for the competition around Australia, which means our children are learning to save regularly, which is fantastic! If your child/children are new to school banking, school banking is done on Tuesdays – just get your child/children to bring along their bank books to school and the class teacher will collect these at the beginning of the day.
I process the banking each Tuesday morning and your child/children’s deposit book will be stamped and signed to show the deposit has been processed and they receive a token. Once they reach ten tokens, they can be redeemed for rewards!
This term’s new reward items are the swimming bag and money box:
There is a display outside of the library if you are interested in having a look! Remember younger and older siblings can bank through the school – it is the same process and their older/younger sibling can bring in their bankbook for them. Just a gentle reminder please not to forget to fill in the deposit slip with name, student number, amount, date of deposit, account Number, branch .... let your child/children fill in the deposit slip (this saves you time, keeps them busy and helps with their writing), my boys love it! When your children make a deposit into their account, it’s not the amount that counts, it is the fact they are learning to save money on a regular basis. A single coin will do! We hold a banking activity at least once a term so please keep an eye on the website, newsletters and Tiqbiz for information. If you would like to join the school banking program, please grab a pack from outside the library and if you have any questions, ask Sue, Chris and Nadine in the office or give me a call.
